Splash of Color Flower Plarn Handbag
This purse has got to be my favorite at the moment. It’s cute,  stylish & no one would ever guess it’s made from plastic bags! I just love working with plarn and seeing trash turned into treasure.

–Just a splash of color and a delicate flower gives this handbag the perfect feminine touch. Made from recycling various plastic bags in plarn (plastic yarn). Be the envy of the town and eco-friendly at the same time.–

Popsicle Reindeer

Popsicle Reindeer

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Three popsicle/craft sticks
  • Two wiggle eyes
  • One red or black pom
  • Glue

See below.

1. Glue two popsicle sticks together at their ends to form a “V”.

2. Glue the final popsicle stick horizontally across the top of the “V”, letting the ends of the popsicle sticks (all three) stick out approximately one inch to form the antlers.

3. Glue a wiggle eye just under the top horizontal popsicle stick on each side of the “V”.

4. Glue a red or black pom for a nose at the bottom of the “V” where both of the popsicle sticks meet.

5. Put a thin ribbon through the reindeer to create a ornament for the Christmas tree.

Chenille Stem (pipe cleaner) Christmas Tree Ornament

Category: Christmas CraftsJamie @ 2:29 pm

This is a super easy craft for kids! Here’s what you will need:

  • 12″ chenille stem (pipe cleaners)
  • 12 to 18 pony beads (red and white, or multicolor
  • ribbon or wire for hanging the ornament

1. Slide 12 to 18 pony beads on a chenille stem, being sure to mix the colors.

2. Bend the tree at the bottom forming approximately a 2.5″ base.  Now bend the chenille stem back and forth, making each bend a smaller length than the bend before it until you end with a little curl of chenille stem at the top.

3. Tie a wire or ribbon at the top to hang your ornament.
Enjoy !

Painted Spoon Ornaments #2

Category: Christmas CraftsJamie @ 2:09 pm

Here is another way to make spoon ornaments. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Spoons (teaspoon size)
  • craft paint (colors of your choice)
  • jingle bells (optional)
  • Decorative ribbon (optional)

1. First step is to take two pairs of pliers and bend the handle of the spoon towards the back side  of the scoop part of the the spoon. This part will serve are the part to hold the ornament on the tree.

2. With the handle facing up, paint the back side of the scoop part of the spoon with your favorite holiday image (santa, reindeer, snowman, gingerbread man, candy canes, christmas tree, etc). Do not paint the handle.

3.  After the paint is completely dry, take a piece of ribbon and attach a jingle bell then tie a bow around the top of scoop part of the spoon.

Painted Spoon Ornaments #1

Category: Christmas CraftsJamie @ 12:43 pm

I found the cutest idea for ornaments. This is a fun craft project to involve the kids in! This project you do not bend the spoon. If you’re looking for instructions for that one see “Painted Spoon Ornaments #2″. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Spoons (teaspoon size)
  • craft paint (colors of your choice)
  • Craft wire (red or green)
  • jingle bells (one for each spoon)
  • Decorative ribbon

1. Take colored wire and wrap around the handle securely being sure to make a loop at the top to hang it.

2. With the handle facing up, paint the scoop part of the spoon with your favorite holiday image (santa, reindeer, snowman, gingerbread man, candy canes, christmas tree, etc). Do not paint the handle.

3.  After the paint is completely dry, take a piece of ribbon and attach a jingle bell then tie a bow around the top of scoop part of the spoon.

Voila… you’ve got a cute, fun and easy handmade present. Also great as a present topper.

Please feel free to add any tips to improve this idea.
